The rule is not explosive too so we can apgluxe it although the ship won't be appearing anytime soon I think

Nice find! And yeah, that ship looks too big and fragile to be anything but extremely rare naturally.

The same rule also has this c/5 diagonal ship (different from AbhpzTa's one):

Code: Select all

x = 6, y = 6, rule = B2-an3-cery4city5kqry6-ck7c8/S

I manage the 5S project, which collects all known spaceship speeds in Isotropic Non-totalistic rules. I also wrote EPE, a tool for searching in the INT rulespace.

Things to work on:
- Find (7,1)c/8 and 9c/10 ships in non-B0 INT.
- EPE improvements.

Wow, I'm surprised at all the different spaceships with different speeds that rule supports, despite all its constraints. :)

This reminds me of an idea I had in this thread. If you can find an equivalent "wave" that erodes the wick, instead of expanding it, then you could create an arbitrarily slow (and arbitary slope) spaceship.

Considering its destructive, one-way nature, I don't think that counts as propagation (superluminal propagation has been proven impossible in Moore-neighbourhood CA, after all).

For a physical analogue, I suppose it is somewhat similar to the way a shadow can appear to move faster than light as it does not convey information from one shadowed object to another (only from the light source to the object). However, that doesn't really give a one-word name like "propagation".

B0123-aijn4-kt5-a6ae8/S013ai4-an5 has both phases of the glider as well as abundant c/2 pseudo-spaceships, some of which split or change direction in-flight. Below is a 42c/84 from this rule:

Code: Select all

x = 51, y = 19, rule = B0123-aijn4-kt5-a6ae8/S013ai4-an5

Unlike Day and Night, it has abundant small spaceships (the aforementioned phases of the glider) but very few stationary objects.

Code: Select all

x = 4, y = 3, rule = B3-q4z5y/S234k5j
