Yes, this literally lasted for 50 soups before blowing up. Folks, if you request hauls, please make sure you've submitted at least one small haul (10,000 soups) yourself to ensure that soup-searching a rule is feasible.

If you're asking others to soup-search rules, I feel it's not too much to ask for this in turn.

B3-c4ek5ky6e7c/S2-c3-e4yz5ar78 has 4 small diagonal ships os speeds c/4 diagonal, 4c/14 diagonal, 6c/54 diagonal, and c/25 diagonal:

RLE

Those are interesting patterns. Considering this rule is quite close to regular Life, I wonder if infinite novelty could be generated in regular Life by a similar interaction. Nick Gotts has collected several ark interactions that take a very long time to become periodic at this link, but none of those are truly infinite novelty generators.

Rules like that, rules that combine large hauls with fast searching (10k soups = ~170 KB, at a rate of ~800 soups/sec), should only be searched very carefully so as to not break Catagolue and push it over its quota... encouraging -- asking -- others to contribute is pretty much the polar opposite of what you should be doing with them.

Neat rule. I'm tempted to search a higher symmetry on this, but D4_+2 at least averages less than 0.02 soups/sec, so it's not all that feasible to search. (And I don't want to let it run for a week only to find out that it's either gotten stuck on some weird growth pattern, or produced a haul too large to be uploaded. )

Searching C1, though!

### Re: apgsearch - haul requests

Can somebody search B2-a3-ai4-an5678/S1e2a5678? I want to see how apgsearch handles its dynamic.

EDIT: Not sure if it will work in all honesty, it's not explosive but it would be very difficult to classify most patterns that come from soup...

Nice 5c/15 from manual soup searching in that rule:
x = 5, y = 6, rule = B2-a3-ai4-an5678/S1e2a5678b3o$5o$b3o$5o$2bo$2bo! x₁=ηx V ⃰_η=c²√(Λη) K=(Λu²)/2 Pₐ=1−1/(∫^∞_t₀(p(t)ˡ⁽ᵗ⁾)dt) $$x_1=\eta x$$ $$V^*_\eta=c^2\sqrt{\Lambda\eta}$$ $$K=\frac{\Lambda u^2}2$$ $$P_a=1-\frac1{\int^\infty_{t_0}p(t)^{l(t)}dt}$$ http://conwaylife.com/wiki/A_for_all Aidan F.
