Here's one with an infinitely extensible tagalong and two wickstretchers. It travels at c/4 diagonal.

Would you count this oscillator as a counterfeit? It has all the normal phases of a normal glider:

That one's really good. It looks like a normal glider flying around in a circle.

That one's really good. It looks like a normal glider flying around in a circle.

It actually only needs to be two transitions away from regular CGoL:
`x = 3, y = 3, rule = B3/S1e2-e3b2o\$obo\$2bo!`

Cvojan's more complicated rule has the advantage of not being explosive, however. It also has a natural c/34 diagonal spaceship that in a few phases features a glider, though it is not very common:
`x = 3, y = 5, rule = B2k37/S1e2an3-k6n78obo\$2o\$bo2\$b2o!`

I wrote a small script to extend the list of counterfeit gliders. It searches for gliders moving in several directions.
The result is attached as a zip file, containing several rle's. The output file have the names cfg_A_B_C_D.rle where

A = 0 or 1 for the two different glider pattern (0=bo\$2bo\$3o!, 1=obo\$b2o\$bo!).
B = period of the ship
C = ymove (translation in y-direction)
D = xmove (translation in x-direction)

For example cfg_1_15_6_-2.rle contains this ship:
`x = 3, y = 3, rule = B2cei3eijny4acjwz5eijy6-en7e/S2-ei3aejq4aceijwy5cery6ak7eobo\$b2o\$bo!`

Note that it also contains oscillators (if C=D=0) and the ships do not necessarily have full periods. Moreover, the rulespace is not the minimal one, so many rule appear to be exploding, but often there are stable alternatives available.

There are 1320 files in the zip. So we should have more than 1000 counterfeit gliders.

Well he could looked at the files. There this ship is listed:
`x = 3, y = 3, rule = B2-ak3-ekr4-acjkr5-eny6-ei7/S01c2cei3cry4-cjkt5-ciy678bo\$2bo\$3o!`

which moves in the same direction but differently. And I am sure that there plenty of other ships, that move with the same displacement as the glider in life.

I thought there is no point in posting the script. It's just a simple loop across the degrees of freedom that calles lls. I let it run for a day or a night, something like this.
