Adding B8 seems to give quite tame behaviour, and the puffer is still natural. The behaviour is much less dynamic though

Not that exact spaceship, but this works:
x = 3, y = 3, rule = B2e3-ajr4-irty/S23

Of course, you could just play around with the b4 transitions until you gget a big enough spark

Found a small c/6 diagonal in a related (stable!) rule:

Someone should tame Dragon (B3aijknqry4acikqtwz5inqy/S1e2ei3acjkr4acijkqrtwz6ak), while keeping the c/16 spaceship & sparky oscillator, but making the 'replicator' turn into a high period ship instead of just exploding, preferrably one that can be turned into a true replicator. Also maybe have the rule not explode on D4_+2 symmetry.

All my attempts failed.

Can you remove the exploding and non-dying aspect of B3/S0245678 while retaining the ladders and the replicator-like growths on them?

I have a very specific request that may or may not fit here:

Please, make this rule less stable by:
- Keeping a failed replicator/high period spaceship (not necessarily the one in this post) that can be paired with itself to make a true replicator
- Making it have less clumpy, blocky still lifes, so it can be searched.
- Contain a common, low period spaceship.
- Keep the Day & Night-ness , as well as the phoenix-like strips.

I will keep you all updated if I find a rule like this. Apologies if I come off as demanding
get down with the sickness.
