It took a while, but here is orthogonal speeds, along with an updated oblique speeds file. The orthogonal speeds contains everything from the original list, the NSWSS thread, here, and a lot more. It will be a while before the diagonal speeds file is ready. I will use AbhpzTa's rue when it has minimum population, because it still counts as a ship. For example, I used a C/26 orthogonal from his rule because it had a lower minimum population than the previously smallest ship.

EDIT: Finally, a 5c/12!, added it.

Code: Select all

x = 7, y = 7, rule = B2ce3ai/S1c24-i5

Things to work on:
- Find (7,1)c/8 and 9c/10 ships in non-B0 INT.
- EPE improvements.

Here is a collection of a lot of ships, from various places, and all from the previous collection, it also has everything from this thread:

EDIT, extremely important update, now has ridiculous quantities of three-cell ships, thanks to Wildmyron's new spaceship script, Ill leave it to him to share it. I have not gotten even close to adding all of the stuff from it, but there is a lot here. There are probably about 50 new knightships in the oblique ships file.

Another edit, here is a smaller B1e c/2 diagonal for A for Awesome:

Code: Select all

x = 3, y = 3, rule = B1e2c3ar/S01e4i5i6ai

Next major update, there are 3-cell (2,1)c/x for x from 5-23 and 25-26, and what I believe to be all ships with period 28 or less. These are some speeds that I need for non B2a or B1e rules. If anyone has found any of these, please submit them here.

Thanks, added them, the 2c/34 and 6c/16 orthogonal had a 3-cell example, I just haven't added them in yet, but thanks. The next update will probably have a bunch of new speeds, I have still not added all known 3 cell ships. The hardest speeds to find are those just under c/2 with an odd period, like 6c/13. Based on the new 3c/5, which is in the orthogonal collection, I feel like a 3c/4 orthogonal is close.

I'm really struggling to post stuff here, what with the invincible 3-cell ships for most speeds, but here's one:
48-cell 14c/44 ship

Code: Select all

x = 19, y = 48, rule = B3-n4w/S23-a4-i

That did not have a three-cell example, most periods above 25, with high numerators, especially prime numerators will not have examples yet. The three-cell list really thins out after p25, so there is a better chance there, or if you find a ship in this speeds above.

5c/34 diagonal had an example, but the 16c/41 orthogonal does not, nice! I will upload a file with all known up to p50 soon, I have not quite finished.

I don't think that counts. It's not the same pattern on even and odd gens -- it just looks like it.

It has been a long time since an update for the collection, so here is one, with all of my 3 cell ships up to p100, that I had. This collection now contains probably 300 more ships than the last update, and now allows any contributors to know if there is a three-cell example. I need to add examples for the orthogonal speeds of c/N, where I don't have an example, but that will come later.

Thanks, that is a new speed, but from now on, please orient the ship so that it glides right, and in the phase with the minimum population. Toroidalet does it up higher in the post, if an example is needed.
