I really like this rule! I see that Danny has taken the liberty of Catagoluing it: https://catagolue.appspot.com/census/b2ci3ai4c8s02ae3eijkq4iz5ar6i7e/C1

Guns exist for all periods greater than or equal to 34:

Ah, yes, this rule. How would one search for a pull reaction that also reflects the glider?

Other than that, this 2c/12 diagonal spaceship popped out of apgsearch:
x = 4, y = 5, rule = B2ci3ai4c8/S02ae3eijkq4iz5ar6i7e
bo$3o$3bo2$o2bo!

Pretty much all Z-based things can have each Z reduced to this 4-cell still life (don't know how it slipped past everyone, haha.):
x = 17, y = 7, rule = B2ci3ai4c8/S02ae3eijkq4iz5ar6i7e
8bo$6b5o5bo$2o4bo3bo3bo$bo3b2obob2o2b2o$2o4bo3bo$6b5o$8bo!

Also, a fun smaller p18 completely unrelated to the one in the OP:
x = 13, y = 6, rule = B2ci3ai4c8/S02ae3eijkq4iz5ar6i7e
b2o$2bo$o4bobo$12bo$10bo$10b2o!

Various oscillators are on catagolue, but this one is my favourite.

Cheers!
I prefer Dani now, but Danny is fine seeing as it's my username and I've already made 4 too many accounts.

Replace "object" in the url with "attribute". Please don't ask questions like that on this thread, that should go on general catagolue discussion or even the apgsearch thread. (EDIT: Looking back on it now, that may have come off as rude, deepest apologies)

This is probably gun-able:

I tried but the timing of the reflectors was off.

D8_1 search was fruitful, here are the results as well as some noodling (there are a bunch of oscillators on the catagolue page. Seems like the only periods missing now are 13, 15, 22, 25, 27-31 until this rule is omniperiodic.):

This is a really fun rule.

Probably extremely inefficient 12g 2c/19 synth:

Related p36 gun (should allow for arbitrary periods of 40+8n, too, but also 36 for some reason):

Another funky G-2R, this one going forward:
x = 14, y = 16, rule = B2ci3ai4c8/S02ae3eijkq4iz5ar6i7e
6bo$5bobo$5b3o$6bo5$11b2o$b2o8bo$2bo10bo$o6bo2$9b2o$9bo$11bo!

BlinkerSpawn noted in Discord that both duplicators' 180-degree output can be suppressed, giving a minimum repeat time of 40:
x = 35, y = 34, rule = B2ci3ai4c8/S02ae3eijkq4iz5ar6i7e

Here are a few potential avenues for an R-G demoter:

With the left-hand one, I was able to find these two parity-agnostic R-R period doublers:

This rule does not seem to have many speeds for ships. I did find this weird 2c/4, but nothing really interesting.

I was a fool. The p43+4N guns do work at p39 (but I had to shift the duplicator):
x = 44, y = 45, rule = B2ci3ai4c8/S02ae3eijkq4iz5ar6i7e

Unfortunately the reflectors don't work at p35.
In a similar vein, you can make p34 and p36 guns:
x = 34, y = 71, rule = B2ci3ai4c8/S02ae3eijkq4iz5ar6i7e

smaller p34 gun:

It seems that interest has died off pretty soon. I still think this rule has great potential for engineered circuits.
Are there any snowflake-pull reactions?

Yes, despite the small and orthogonal p2 glider, its guns, eaters, stable reflectors and signal duplicators etc. it would be easy to construct complex patterns. Probably the audience are keeping in mind and in scope that there are even outer-totalistic Life-like rules without proofs for availability for arbitrary computations :mrgreen:

The proofs of this are exactly the same as in Life and apply to all rules with guns and a clean annihilation reaction.

What I think is going on is that we're finding so many rules with dynamics similar to this rule that the threshold for lasting interest keeps being pushed higher and higher.
We build the oscillators, we construct the guns, we search for some ships, and we move on to the next challenge.

I did some soup search on several symmetries, but most extensively on D4_+1 and got some nice results.

Most importantly I found a new reflector (as part of an oscillator). Now we have 6 (of 2 general types) reflectors:
x = 43, y = 101, rule = B2ci3ai4c8/S02ae3eijkq4iz5ar6i7e
8$26b2o$27bo$26b2o4$29bo$31bo$30b2o$28bo$35b2o$35bo$35b2o$28bo$30b2o$
31bo$29bo6$31b2o$31bo$30b2o$28bo$35b2o$35bo$35b2o$28bo$30b2o$31bo$31b
2o5$29bo$27b5o3b2o$27bo3bo3bo$23bo2b2obob2o2b2o$21b3o3bo3bo$21bo5b5o$
29bo10$29bo$27b5o3b2o$21bo5bo3bo3bo$23bo2b2obob2o2b2o$22b2o3bo3bo$27b
5o$29bo8$29bo$27b5o$27bo3bo3b2o$23bo2b2obob2o2bo$21b3o3bo3bo3b2o$21bo
5b5o$29bo10$29bo$27b5o$21bo5bo3bo3b2o$23bo2b2obob2o2bo$22b2o3bo3bo3b2o
$27b5o$29bo!

Most importantly, the new reflector(s) reflect(s) the glider colour preserving.

Thus, this reflector allows many nice things. E.g. the p39+4N gun (above) can be made much smaller:
x = 69, y = 114, rule = B2ci3ai4c8/S02ae3eijkq4iz5ar6i7e
5$52b2o$53bo$53b2o3$54bo$52b5o$52bo3bo$51b2obob2o$54bo4$54bobo$54b3o

50b2obob2o$51bo3bo$51b5o$53bo3$52b2o$52bo$54bo!

But it also allows for small families of oscillators with adjustable an even period:
x = 90, y = 34, rule = B2ci3ai4c8/S02ae3eijkq4iz5ar6i7e
5$5b2o2b2o12b2o3b2o20b2o4b2o14b2o6b2o$5bo4bo12bo5bo20bo6bo14bo8bo$4b2o

12b2o8b2o$50bo6bo14bo8bo$48bo10bo10bo12bo!

So we have p12+4N oscillators (one glider version), such as p10+4N oscillators (two glider versions), as we have many known p2, p4, p6, p8 oscillators, we have oscillators for all even periods.
However, combining it with the odd reflector (colour changing reflector), we get p37+4N oscillators (with 1 glider), and p35+4N oscillators (with 2 gliders):
x = 101, y = 63, rule = B2ci3ai4c8/S02ae3eijkq4iz5ar6i7e

This allows now for ridiculously small oscillators of period p29+4N (2gliders shuttle, with population 14!) and p31+4N (1 glider shuttle):
x = 68, y = 37, rule = B2ci3ai4c8/S02ae3eijkq4iz5ar6i7e

So some of the minimal oscillators above, have a smaller version. Also some guns can be made smaller using this technology.

EDIT2:
As mentioned by danny for the synthesis of the 12 glider 2c/19 spaceship, it seems that synthesis of still lifes is hard, as no still life (except 1 single cell) can be created by two gliders.

We have 4 gliders for the p4 spaceship (the R) and 12 gliders for the c/6 (p12) diagonal spaceship.
3 gliders for a snowflake and a 1/2-snowflake which is optimal.
4 gliders for the 3/4 snowflake, 5 gliders (1G+1R) for the 4 cell eater, 6 gliders for the 5 cell eater (the Z) and 10 gliders for the carrier.
12 gliders for the 'extended' 3/4 snowflake, and 14 for the 7-bit still life (the W heptomino). 8 gliders for the second most common 7bit still life (point symmetric 4-bit still life). And 8 gliders for a quite complex still life: two stacked W.
Everything which requires more than 3 gliders might be improved.

However, signal converter with other (larger) periods are possible. For a stable G to 2G we require at least either a stable 90° R reflector, or a stable R to G converter.

Re: Snowflakes (B2ci3ai4c8/S02ae3eijkq4iz5ar6i7e)

I found a relatively simple 90° R to G reflector:
x = 48, y = 23, rule = B2ci3ai4c8/S02ae3eijkq4iz5ar6i7e
4$36bo$b2o16b3o12b5o$2b2o17bo12bo3bo$2bo17b2o11b2obob2o2b2o$bo32bo3bo

with repeat time 37. This allows now the construction of stable G to 2G duplicators and splitters (also G to R+G, G to 2R, R to 2G, R to G+R, R to 2R) as we have stable G to R converters.

The most simple duplicator is:
x = 38, y = 51, rule = B2ci3ai4c8/S02ae3eijkq4iz5ar6i7e

with a repeat time of 354.

This 90° R to G reflector in combination with the standard 90° G to G snowflake-reflectors and the 90° R to G converter can be used to construct any colour changing 90° reflector (the actual ones are colour preserving - this is also the reason the large repeat time of the splitter).

However, now the rule has lots of nice things:
- all stable colour changing 90° and 180° R and G reflectors,
- G and R guns of larger periods (G 33>=, R 40>=, also some smaller periods) and pseudo guns should be constructable for periods p>=21:
x = 98, y = 61, rule = B2ci3ai4c8/S02ae3eijkq4iz5ar6i7e

- oscillators of all periods
- synthesis for all important natural still lifes and spaceships
- simple push reaction (for the single point and the snowflake), using splitters we might be able to construct pulls reaction as well.

EDIT1: The 90° reflector collection (G/R to G/R) with all possible colour changes:
