The idea is essentially the same as described above. We have G bouncing between two reflectors and two 2c/6 ships. And a gun shoots R's which get eliminated by the back-flying G.

Even though it is likely not optimal in terms of minimal repeating population 172 is already better than B3/S23, like in the linear growth.

The topmost shuttle is optional. I don't know why, but I feel like this could lead to adjustable-speed spaceships. Increase the distance between the left and right sides, add a couple more outputs to be rerouted to push the snowflakes back, maybe throw some stack reactions in there...I don't quite know where to go from there.

The idea I had is that we place some gliders on the bottom 'spine' section, that split into two crowds, which push the snowflakes at the end back one cell further then they started. Although that may be tricky since we don't have any pull reactions that generate a sideways glider, so we would need to use even more gliders...it doesn't seem that feasible now that I think about it.

i doubt that a (currently feasible) snowflake-pushing ship exists because we don't have a pull reaction. since universal construction is theoretically possible then we could theoretically make a giant snowflake-pushing ship, but i think that's it.
Any sufficiently advanced software is indistinguishable from malice.

I think only the first one, ddot+G which emits a G is used so far in guns, etc.
The second and third pattern give a similar reaction just with an R and a different timing of the resulting G.
The fourth one just kills a snowflake while the R is passing and the G is reflected.

If I got it correctly, a Sawtooth (or a log-growth) does not work using a reflection of the 2c/19 ship due to the math above.

Push reactions only add a constant offset and two-ended 2c/19s simply remove the 180-degree reflection between cycles.

I haven't commented on it yet, but I find this rule very interesting. I always check for new things which have been posted in this thread. In not too long this rule will take the crown from tlife for being the most investigated non-totalistic rule!

Anyway, I've tried synthesizing the 2c/6 ship without much success. I've been trying to do the middle section because that seems the hardest and the most important. The outer section only serves to put a dot in a particular place for the middle section, so that can probably be temporarily replaced with spaceships. I haven't been able to finish the middle but I've got close(ish).
In the examples below, I need to insert a T which I haven't been able to do. So at the generation marked above the example, you need to find the lowest individual dot in the example and place the below lifehistory pattern such that the green cell is on that lowest dot.
