Wire World Extensible 3 (WWEJ3)
Re: Wire World Extensible 3 (WWEJ3)
I made "ships" as I described, so it breaks most patterns even though the behaviour is almost identical, thease patterns could probbably be reworked. Could we work with this instead for building ships? I will upload to the RTR if it is a success.

Why hasn't a glider exploded yet?
Re: Wire World Extensible 3 (WWEJ3)
Thanks. I've fixed the link, am most greatfull, can't believe that nobody pointed that out before.
Re: Wire World Extensible 3 (WWEJ3)
I'm trying to make ships with your ruletable, but I can't. Can you post a sample ship?
Re: Wire World Extensible 3 (WWEJ3)
phew, right, lets try again, freshly uploaded with corrections.

Iv'e added some exceptions to better moddel the states in the original WWEJ3, apparently It couldn't be that neet. The extra lines Iv'e added to the rule table are commented accordingly. Tell me if you find anything that won't convert (I expect there will be some things) and I will fix them.
Here is an example.
x = 13, y = 7, rule = ships

For some reason, I am really interested in the oscillators in this rule. Here is a small p8:
And here is a naturally-appearing p6:
I know that some of the cells are not necessary for the oscillator to function, but this was the form I found it in.

Re: Wire World Extensible 3 (WWEJ3)
Good stuff Wojowu. I'll get on it now.
Re: Wire World Extensible 3 (WWEJ3)
Nice, now more things work as in WWEJ3. But I found one small thing, this don't change move of most spaceships, but is important in my predecessors of ships. State 0 should change to state 2 only if one of its neighbors is state 4, not 2 or more. This pattern
should make state 2 only on ends (i.e. to the left and to the right). Also, state 4 should evolve into some state 5, which isn't eating wire. I can try to make such table if you want. Also, what is second rule based on? It behaves a lot different than WWEJ3
Code: Select all
x = 3, y = 1, rule = ships

Re: Wire World Extensible 3 (WWEJ3)
Thanks, your observations are apreceated. However I'm happy with it as is now, it's a nice comprimise. I've uploaded ships_pure and ships_mid to the RTR.
If you wish to create a ships_orig then I'd include that in the entery as well, with the "exceptions" sections of the RT tweaked to better match the original.

Re: Wire World Extensible 3 (WWEJ3)
Yes, I'd really appreciate that. Also, you should include that for 3 or more active neighbors wire stays intact
