Originally created so that this common pattern evolves into something similar nine generations on:
x = 5, y = 5, rule = B2e3aijkq4a7c/S2-an3-a
b3o$o3bo$o3bo$o3bo$b3o!


There are basic ships:
x = 13, y = 5, rule = B2e3aijkq4a7c/S2-an3-a
2bobo$o5bo$11b2o$b2ob2o5bo$3bo5b3o!


Is this rule of any interest?
waiting for apgsearch to support one-dimensional rules

The common pattern is actually a failed replicator (see generation 31).

A 4c/8 spaceship (there are a few more common diagonal and 2c/4 ones):
x = 7, y = 8, rule = B2e3aijkq4a7c/S2-an3-a

Speaking of replicators, I found a zz_REPLICATOR when trying to apgsearch this but it froze afterwards. I'm going to retry and hopefully it'll pop up again so we can see what exactly it is.

EDIT: Turns out it's just a chaotic growth rather than an actual replicator.

The zz_REPLICATOR is a diagonal symmetry-explosion, which is something I hadn't seen before:
x = 6, y = 6, rule = B2e3aijkq4a7c/S2-an3-a
3o$obo$3o2$4bo$5bo!


Similarly to the orthogonal symmetry-explosions you see in rules like Wild Seas, it stabilises quickly if it hits an asymmetry:
x = 61, y = 75, rule = B2e3aijkq4a7c/S2-an3-a
3o$obo$3o2$4bo$5bo68$60bo$59bo!
