Undertook a bit of a survey of low period oscillators in this rule. It is certainly apparent that billiard table oscillators are much rarer than in Life. I presume this is due to the presence of B5 disrupting many of the patterns which would be stable in Life.

That's not the case. It's an incredibly buggy custom-written script in pure Python using a cellular automaton module I wrote myself. Because I wrote it myself, the script can also handle unusual things like different and larger neighborhoods and the module (but not the script) can handle cellular automata with any number of dimensions (Python is great that way). Disadvantages are that it's very slow compared to Golly, very buggy, in the preliminary stages of development, and doesn't have any kind of graphical interface other than the terminal, which doesn't count. It's currently impossible to change the search without changing the source code, and I'm not entirely confident it correctly accounts for different orientations properly. There is no infinite growth detection, short of throwing out all results that make it to gen 100000 without stabilizing; and stabilization detection is rudimentary, prone to false positives, unsuited to higher-period oscillators such as pentadecathlons (see here) and needs nontrivial modification based on the periods common in the rule being searched. It is currently capable of any soup sizes, as well as either random or exhaustive searches. I'm reluctant to post it here due to the buggy and unfinished nature of the whole thing. A while ago I also wrote a Golly version that was actually much less useful, albeit faster, due to the lack of a useful text output and only allowing the normal kinds of rules, which I could post if I can find the file.

I found that one with RandAgar, but looking around catagolue there is a natural variation of it consisting of 4 copies of the rotor.
