[Non-CA Game] Codes
[Non-CA Game] Codes
Let's start a little game where we decrypt each other's codes! Here's how it works:
1. A person posts a code
2. Another person solves it
3. The solver posts a code
4. If the solver refuses, he posts "Pass"
Repeat.
For the codes, there are rules too!
1. Don't make it too hard, no prime-number encryption, or anything too hard.
1.5 If it is somewhat difficult or people request it, you must provide an example of decryption or a crew.
2. The decrypted code can not have swears, personal info, or the like.
Here is the first code, pretty easy:

Re: [Non-CA Game] Codes
Is there unused information in there, or am I missing some significance? It's too bad thatSaka wrote:Here is the first code, pretty easy:

ayj(rt)ocwhn:3589 85459 659712
isn't quite as clean.

My new code challenge, for someone who hasn't solved the first one yet, is

You'll just have to pretend that there's a Unicode character that combines an "r" and a "t" into a single letter.
Re: [Non-CA Game] Codes
Or in true Computer Science fashion you could have used zero.dvgrn wrote:You'll just have to pretend that there's a Unicode character that combines an "r" and a "t" into a single letter.

Hm. Should have thought of that. Well, then, rowett wrote:Or in true Computer Science fashion you could have used zero.dvgrn wrote:You'll just have to pretend that there's a Unicode character that combines an "r" and a "t" into a single letter.

Going with assigning 0123456789 gives John Horton Conway.dvgrn wrote:Hm. Should have thought of that. This one should be easy too, or maybe a bit harder (it is something about the Game of Life):
Rds jqrmpmsjyrtpzm, opmozpua pqsr tsy sjydtpy, sa aov dp mep mlp eyrjy gprmpdotrlm oanr jyj y oetrjyrhp ym pajy svef sym rqrjy.

Yeah, I think I went a bit overboard. I'll give a hint. The first two words are "The pentadecathlon"PHPBB12345 wrote:Maximum number of cases is 560127029342507827200000.Rhombic wrote:This one should be easy too, or maybe a bit harder (it is something about the Game of Life):

What program do you use for encrypted (e.g. C++)?Rhombic wrote:Yeah, I think I went a bit overboard. I'll give a hint. The first two words are "The pentadecathlon"

Python with a very simple script that I wrote.PHPBB12345 wrote:Rhombic wrote:This one should be easy too, or maybe a bit harder (it is something about the Game of Life):

Another clue: the text is reversed, but the word lengths are as it is.

Answer is "The pentadecathlon, together with the blinker, is one of the two known oscillators that are a polyomino in more than one phase."
Correct?

Yes!! How was it coded? (I forgot)first step is "yjr qrmysfevsyjapm, yphryjrt eoyj yjr naomlrt, od pmr pg yjr yep lmpem pdvoaasyptd yjsy str s qpaupzomp om zptr yjsm pmr qjsdr",
