I'm pretty sure the consensus would be that uppercase beta is equivalent to the English "B", putting you in Team A.
A good rule would just be to divide yourself based on whichever half of {some alphabet} you belong to.

Wow. This is alive again.
Did I mention in the rules that the cell added by the attackers has to cause at least one additional birth or death in the next generation?

Attackers already win because Defender can't save it by removing cells.

Sorry, I probably got confused because the word 'attacker' had a negative connotation compared to 'defender' and that 'remove' had a more negative connotation than 'add'.

It isn’t your turn because you are attacking that which has been attacked already without a defense in between.

I would say that choice has a lot of opportunity for counterplay.
