Sorry for bumping this very-old thread I created before, but this very-old reaction found by Kazyan, and recently rediscovered by me, was probably suitable for this thread. What can you do with this?

The problem is that constellation didn't get actually moved, but turned into another constellation - the distance between the block and the boat becomes larger.

Also, how would you want to get rid of extra Gs?

After some tries, I don't see a way to place the block there. Also, for a spaceship, it should produce more gliders, a simple moving reaction is not enough.

To make a reaction to be actually useful, you shall find a way to produce it. Maybe it's like my eater, if you move that glider back it won't work so no way to place that glider there:
x = 26, y = 9, rule = LifeHistory

I responded way after hunting, by the way.

Hunting is right in his post, especially

I do want to point out that there are a lot of similar reactions with fewer caveats, e.g.
x = 15, y = 10, rule = B3/S23
bo$2bo$3o6$13b2o$13b2o!

And nobody has made spaceships out of these. You’d need a way to get more out than you put in. This is precisely how every caterpillar (in the sense of spaceships working that way) works. Take a look at the caterpillar or HBK or waterbear— you have, at the smallest scales, reactions which create more gliders than you put in (while preserving the reactants). These gliders react so that they build whatever is needed to sustain the reactions creating them and destroy waste. The ships are ingeniously crafted ladders that climb themselves.

There's still one way to use those moving reaction in Caterpillars: Use them to absorb something. (However since even if it is possible you will need a large set of specfic glider positions in that beacon reaction to produce the block and that would be useless in even this case)

The first one doesn't work because the output pi destroys that eater before itvrecovers

It also destroys the Eater 3 variants at the same time, so either all of them work or none of them work (except if there's a catalyst that only fits with some of them)

Wait, isn't it more notable that gen 9 and gen 66 have some similarity?
Or, should I know that, it is just as Hunting wrote:the problem is that constellation didn't get actually moved, but turned into another constellation - the distance between the loaf and the pi becomes larger.

That has a similar problem, but you just need a gun to rebuild the block here.
I’ll leave it as an exercise for you to do that.
I should mention that it is rather difficult to put the block there though.

Here’s a gun, if you need to help

Really, though, I should tell you that you probably shouldn’t think that something like this
#C found by accident, a couple seconds ago
#C (and probably by someone else earlier)
x = 11, y = 11, rule = B3/S23
o$b2o$2o4$5bo$3bobo$4b2o$9b2o$9b2o!

Means you can have an oscillator or a spaceship
And honestly that at least produces everything you put in, so that might be better than your old beacon thing.
But it won’t make a spaceship either
