It was found by Dean Hickerson on the 24th August 2000, together with the incorrect remark:
The crystal is glide-symmetric, although its method of formation isn't.
The method of formation is glide-symmetric, with semi-period 48.
What do you do with ill crystallographers? Take them to the mono-clinic!

It could be modified to use a Herschel to bump a glider over. Is there already a way to do that?
