New spaceship
New spaceship
I think i have discovered a new category , it moves forward ,it moves forward reverses it's direction leaving behind beehive ,when it does that 2 times , it crashes into previously left behind one ,if i use glider gun to destroy those beehives , i believe it keeps on going like that without crashing , i haven't tried that though

Re: New spaceship
Queen bee
A challenge for you: without searching, could you make a mechanism that destroys these beehives without destroying the spaceship itself?

Help wanted: How can we accurately notate any 1D replicator?
Re: New spaceship
I'm new to this ,and i need to find it's matching period glider gun , Anyways , is this been invented before ?
Re: New spaceship
It's actually the mechanism inside the glider gun

Re: New spaceship
What's the name of that glider gun. So i guess it's no new invention then , useless

Re: New spaceship
It's not "useless". The queen bee has been used to make many interesting patterns. But it is already known.rahul25 wrote:What's the name of that glider gun. So i guess it's no new invention then , useless

Re: New spaceship
This is a very well-known pattern. You can destroy the beehives to make a shuttle, an oscillator in which has the queen bee "bouncing" back and forth (It looks like that to me). It's certainly not useless; I'm not a Life expert, but I know it has many uses, like the aforementioned Gosper Glider Gun.rahul25 wrote:I think i have discovered a new category , it moves forward ,it moves forward reverses it's direction leaving behind beehive ,when it does that 2 times , it crashes into previously left behind one ,if i use glider gun to destroy those beehives , i believe it keeps on going like that without crashing , i haven't tried that though

The queen bee has been recently (i.e. last year) explored as a potential methuselah for Herschel conduits along with the Herschel, B-heptomino, R-pentomino, Pi-heptomino, Century, and block and glider.Prokaryotic Life wrote:This is a very well-known pattern.
