Does anyone know what has happened to the 'Collodoscope.com's Modern CA - Animation Wonderland site?

I used to visit his link quite often... http://www.collidoscope.com/modernca/ but it now seems to be discontinued. I can still find links to the applet but no images whatsoever.

CGOLVE's author, George Maydwell, was active here on the forums briefly in 2011. Since then, I think it's just gotten very difficult to find a browser that doesn't think collidoscope.com's brand of Java applet is an unacceptable security risk. I had trouble getting the Visual Exhibition to run a year or two ago, even with my browser deliberately set to "dangerously low security, not recommended" (or whatever the setting was.)

There's bound to be a way to get that code running again somehow, but until you do, I can see why you wouldn't see any (Java-generated) images.
