In your soup searching, have you just looked for the canonical single-mouth T eater or also other variants like the four-mouth variant under 6-glider syntheses.
I labeled all 15-cell or smaller ones, but the only ones I have found are the original and the weird one I posted a while ago.

The eater weld is synthesizable, though probably not in the synthesis database (which needs updating). After the block is added, do you think the technology exists to somehow add the hat?

I doubt it currently exists, but I would say it's possible. Maybe adding a length-5 inductor, then getting rid of the cell supporting the middle of the inductor and eliminating the middle cell, changing it into two blocks, turning those into boats, and making that into a hat?

This soup produces what I think is a new p5:

Code: Select all

x = 16, y = 16, rule = tlife

I swear this has to have been noticed before but I didn't see it, a p3 extensible oscillator, similar to eater eating eater but involving a blocktie and thus making it tlife specific. (min. pop & bounding box area form shown):

Code: Select all

x = 13, y = 9, rule = tlife

12G synthesis of honeyloaf p5 (4 for eater + 8 shown below):

Code: Select all

x = 22, y = 29, rule = tlife
18bobo$18b2o$12bo6bo$11bo$o10b3o$b2o$2o6$10bo7b3o$8b3o7bo$7bo11bo$7b2o
2$19b3o$9bo9bo$9b2o9bo$8bobo$2bo$2b2o$bobo3$14b3o$14bo$15bo!
Based off a two pre-mangoes + dot spark predecessor of the oscillator, but the route is a bit odd since it's so hard to fit all the necessary parts together. Finding a good, edgy, isolated corner dot spark could reduce the cost to as little as seven gliders.

This is a two state, isotropic, non-totalistic rule on the Moore neighbourhood.
The notation used to define the rule was originally proposed by Alan Hensel.

For anyone who hasn't noticed, the "rule = B36_S2-i34q", "rule = tlife", and "rule = TLifeHistory" patterns all work in LifeViewer now, as of Build 182 -- along with all other Hensel neighbors2.html-format isotropic rules, as far as I've tested so far -- and hexagonal rules, too. Refresh your browsers...!
