If you want to take a crack at it, here are the steps I've been using to add a rule:
1. run isotrop.py (you can find it on the forums, do a search), put the rulestring in, and generate a rule file
2. find the rule file (should be in Golly\Rules) and get rid of everything besides the transitions for birth and survival (get rid of the death transition)
3. pick a variable letter that's not already in use and use find & replace to replace all the 1s with the variable
4. increment n_states by 1
5. set the variable to the next available state (as it is right now that would be 16)
6. paste the transitions at the end but before the death transition
7. in @COLORS, put the new state number and then the RGB code for the color you want to use (for example, if you want state 16 to be dark green, put "16 0 127 0")
and you should be good, just repeat this process for any rule you want to add

Here is an updated version of RainbowS.rule. There is no need to change the name of the updated rule because all the old patterns in RainbowS still work under it.
Also, I once discovered something about b3457s4568. Orthogonal lines of cells 2 cells apart behave the same way they do in LongLife, but once the pattern gets broken, it starts exploding.
