LightShow (345/2-e/3)

Post by dani » November 2nd, 2018, 6:19 pm

This is a Generations rule that I discovered that is one transition from being totalistic, it is named after large natural objects that show up sometimes:

Code: Select all

x = 32, y = 32, rule = 345/2-e/3
3.A$2.A.B$.3A$A.A.A.A$.B.A.A.A2.B$4.A.5A.BA$3.A.A.A2.3A$4.3A.2A.A.A.B
$5.A.A.2A.A.A2.A$5.A.2A.2A.A.3A.B$4.B2A.2A.2A.2A.2A.A$6.2A.2A3.A.2A.A
.A$5.BA.A.A2.A4.A.A.B$5.A.A.A2.A.A2.A.A.A$8.A.2A.6A.4A$7.B.2A3.A2.A2.
A.A$9.A.A2.A2.A3.2A.B$8.4A.6A.2A.A$10.A.A.A2.A.A2.A.A.A$9.B.A.A4.A2.A
.A.AB$10.A.A.2A.A3.2A.2A$11.A.2A.2A.2A.2A.2AB$12.B.3A.A.2A.2A.A$14.A
2.A.A.2A.A.A$16.B.A.A.2A.3A$19.3A2.A.A.A$18.AB.5A.A$21.B2.A.A.A.B$25.
A.A.A.A$28.3A$27.B.A$28.A!
Chaotic growth starts from as little as two cells, a.la brian's brain:

Code: Select all

x = 1, y = 2, rule = 345/2-e/3
A$A!
Speaking of that rule, there's the c/4 ship in this rule, although with an infinitely extensible backend:

Code: Select all

x = 8, y = 30, rule = 345/2-e/3
.B$A$.BAB$2.A3$2.B$.B2.B$A2.2A$.BAB$2.A3$4.B$3.A$2.B2.AB$.B2.BA$A2.2A
$.BAB$2.A3$5.B$4.B2.B$3.A2.2A$2.B2.AB$.B2.BA$A2.2A$.BAB$2.A!
And this weird variant I found:

Code: Select all

x = 6, y = 6, rule = 345/2-e/3
.A$BAB$3.A$4.B$4.2A$4.B!
There's also a c/2 diagonal, along with a sparkier interaction, and one possible puffer made from it:

Code: Select all

x = 20, y = 10, rule = 345/2-e/3
18.BA$16.B.A$15.B.ABA$15.A.2A$15.B$4.B8.B$3.A.A6.A.A$2.A.B6.A.B$B.BA
5.B.BA$.3A6.3A!
But the main attraction is this lightspeed one-dimensional replicator:

Code: Select all

x = 11, y = 12, rule = 345/2-e/3
.B$.A2.B3.A$.B4.2AB2A$B5.2AB2A$4.B3.A3$4.B3.A$B5.2AB2A$.B4.2AB2A$.A2.
B3.A$.B!
I'm surprised it even has an endpost, but here you go:

Code: Select all

x = 67, y = 16, rule = 345/2-e/3
15.A$14.B.B$15.B$.A.A.A3.A.A3.A3.A.A3.A39.A$3A.ABA.ABA.B.ABA.B.ABA.AB
2A36.3A$.A2.ABA.ABA.B2.B2.B.ABA.AB2A37.A$5.A3.A2.B2.B2.B2.A3.A$12.B2.
B2.B$12.B2.B2.B$5.A3.A2.B2.B2.B2.A3.A$.A2.ABA.ABA.B2.B2.B.ABA.AB2A37.
A$3A.ABA.ABA.B.ABA.B.ABA.AB2A36.3A$.A.A.A3.A.A3.A3.A.A3.A39.A$15.B$
14.B.B$15.A!
It could probably be gunned, but save yourself the effort, there are two extremely common guns already:

Code: Select all

x = 8, y = 14, rule = 345/2-e/3
.A$3A$.A$2.BA$2.BA$.A$3A$.A3$.A4.A$.6A$B.A2.A.B$.A4.A!
The latter is actually spawned usually from a wickstrecher, which can sometimes have this weird semi-signal on it:

Code: Select all

x = 11, y = 15, rule = 345/2-e/3
8.BA$8.BA2$5.6A$5.A.AB2A$4.A3.A4$.AB5.BA$.AB5.BA2$11A$2ABA.A.AB2A$2.A
5.A!
Timebomb (starts exploding roundabout 875):

Code: Select all

x = 11, y = 7, rule = 345/2-e/3
.AB5.BA$.AB5.BA2$11A$2ABA.A.AB2A$2.A5.A$4.A!
There's also a weird wickstrecher that can have chaos leech onto it:

Code: Select all

x = 23, y = 23, rule = 345/2-e/3
4.B$3.A.A$2.A.B$B.BA$.3A16$21.BA$20.2BA$20.2A!
Longest lasting non-explosive methuselah I've found:

Code: Select all

x = 3, y = 3, rule = 345/2-e/3
2A$A.A$.A!

p8+2n:

Code: Select all

x = 11, y = 28, rule = 345/2-e/3
.A$3A$.A.BA$3.BA2$7.A$6.3A$7.A3$.A$3A$.A.BA$3.BA2$8.A$7.3A$8.A3$.A$3A
$.A.BA$3.BA2$9.A$8.3A$9.A!
Although, this rule is already omniperiodic like most B2 generation rules.

p42+2n gun:

Code: Select all

x = 26, y = 12, rule = 345/2-e/3
4.A$3.3A$4.A2$.A$3A$.A.BA$3.BA2$.B22.A$2.AB19.3A$24.A!
EDIT: Grapple hook:

Code: Select all

x = 58, y = 10, rule = 345/2-e/3
.A$3A$.A$2.A$.3A52.A$2.A.BA49.3A$4.BA50.A2$2.B$3.AB!
EDIT2: Gun:

Code: Select all

x = 7, y = 6, rule = 345/2-e/3
.A$3A$.A4.A$.A4.A$3A$.A!

p14 gun:

Code: Select all

x = 6, y = 14, rule = 345/2-e/3
4.A$3.3A$2.A.A$.A.A$3A$.A$2.BA$2.BA$.A$3A$.A.A$2.A.A$3.3A$4.A!
It can make a diagonal gun:

Code: Select all

x = 22, y = 25, rule = 345/2-e/3
12.A4.A$11.3A2.3A$10.A.A.2B.A.A$9.A.A2.2A2.A.A$8.3A8.3A$9.A10.A6$4.A$
3.3A$2.A.A$.A.A$3A$.A$2.BA$2.BA$.A$3A$.A.A$2.A.A$3.3A$4.A!
Unfortunately it's not minimal period, that would be 12. Even worse is that it coludn't be made by the standard 2G.

More guns:

Code: Select all

x = 21, y = 65, rule = 345/2-e/3

I propose calling that second smallest photon the “Igniter” and the smallest the “Head”

0 deg Igniter to head population 10:

Code: Select all

x = 13, y = 9, rule = 345/2-e/3
7.A$6.3A$.A5.A$3A$.A2$11.AB$9.AB$9.AB!
cis(?) 90 deg igniter to head

Code: Select all

x = 12, y = 3, rule = 345/2-e/3
.A8.AB$3A5.AB$.A6.AB!
Igniter 180 degree reflector allows periods 2n for all natural numbers n >= 4

Code: Select all

x = 13, y = 48, rule = 345/2-e/3

This is my first post, and I have looked at this rule for a while.
Here is a 7-cell clean quadratic growth, which I believe is the smallest.

Code: Select all

x = 7, y = 6, rule = 345/2-e/3
2A3.2A4$4.A$4.AB!
Furthermore, this sparky spaceship, which I call the Weekender-like spaceship, is a rake stabilized by two sparks into a spaceship.

Code: Select all

x = 19, y = 10, rule = 345/2-e/3
2.A3.B2.B2.B3.A$.BAB2.B.B.B.B2.BAB$A2.3AB5.B3A2.A$.BAB11.BAB$2.A6.A6.
A$7.AB.BA$3.AB3.B.B3.BA$3.AB.B2.A2.B.BA$5.ABA3.ABA$5.2A5.2A!
I have used it to create a bunch of rakes/breeders, such as

Code: Select all

x = 62, y = 173, rule = 345/2-e/3
39.B$38.2A$39.B.B$40.A2$47.B$47.2A$45.B2.BA$41.2A3.A2.AB$41.2B4.B2.2A

31$20.2A$20.2B15$2.A3.B2.B$.BAB2.B.B.B$A2.3AB$.BAB$2.A6.A6.B$7.AB.BA
4.B.B$3.AB3.B.B3.B.A5.B2.B2.B3.A$3.AB.B2.A2.B.BA.BAB2.B.B.B.B2.BAB$5.

B3.B.B3.BA$19.AB.B2.A2.B.BA$21.ABA3.ABA$21.2A5.2A!
EDIT:
I thought I should say that I have a large collection of stuff in this rule, in case you want more.
EDIT2:
the first rake that travels at c/4 diagonal:

Code: Select all

x = 20, y = 16, rule = 345/2-e/3
12.B$11.A$4.B7.BAB$3.2A8.A.B$2.AB$.BA2.A2.B$2A2.2B2.2A2.BA.A$.B.B2.BA
B5.BAB$2.A4.A5.2A$14.B$15.BA$15.B2.AB$14.B2.BA$13.A2.2A$14.BAB$15.A!
EDIT3:
Is this type of ship known?

Code: Select all

x = 6, y = 7, rule = 345/2-e/3
2.AB$.BA$2A2.B$.B$2.A$3.BAB$4.A!
Another that I doubt is known:

Code: Select all

x = 10, y = 7, rule = 345/2-e/3
4.B$3.2A$2.AB$.BA2.A2.B$2A2.2B2.2A$.B.B2.BAB$2.A4.A!
It is an important component of the c/4d rake
EDIT4:
space nonfiller (except for the very center)

Code: Select all

x = 67, y = 76, rule = 345/2-e/3
