Very large ships don't seem to stabilize at all. I note, also, that B38/S237e has a failed pi replicator as well, but appears to be stable on the large scale:

(See generations 26, 30, 146. Stabilization time is 556.)

I've run some 100x100 soup in Golly and most of them stabilize at 100,000+ generations.

And a natural p58 that's somewhere in between twin bees and a tumbler: x = 11, y = 3, rule = B3-r5q/S232o7b2o$o2bo3bo2bo$b3o3b3o!
