The buckaroo is an independent reflector, while yours are not.

probably it is wrong or is trivial to you but ...
I'm dreaming if this would be a stable glider reflector 180 degrees using 2 buckaroos?
Of course that only works with guns 30p or 30p multiples ...
in fact I would like two opinions here: about the glider reflector system and about the improved version of "my" ( i suppose is my invention ) 150p gun / glider factory above

Thank you for your patience to answer my questions

Stable glider reflectors use only stable objects to reflect a glider.... yours is not stable :(

Amazingly, the phase of the glider doesn't matter!

Any glider stream (minimum spacing is p17 I think) will be reflected,
Also, due to symmetry, a half diagonal shift of the glider track will reflect the other way:

but for any period multiple of the 30p the buckaroo works like a stable refletor

by the way ... and my 150p glider gun? this is a new thing or has already been discovered ? obs.:  can be made a gun p300 through this system too.

All the still-lifes up to 24 bits have been counted by computer search by the 1990s. Of course, there are millions of them, so most people have likely not ever actually seen all of them (nor are likely to). Many of this size and smaller are being noticed from time to time as they either occur spontaneously in nature (either from broths or from glider syntheses), or need to be engineered (e.g. as vital components for eaters, reflectors, etc.), or when someone notices that they just look cool.

This is 20.43936, and can easily be synthesized from 10 gliders. Although I don't believe any synthesis for this specifically existed before, it is easy to make using fairly standard mechanisms (i.e. bring in a blinker to extend a beehive by 3 units, and simultaneously bring in two inducting tubs).

Code: Select all

#C 20.43936 from 10 gliders

This is 20.59202, two down snakes on butterfly, and can be synthesized from 45 gliders. While expensive, all the pieces involved were previously known. (Compare with a similar still-life 20.22428, two up snakes on butterfly, that can be synthesized from a mere 10 gliders, and was a result of random discovery in recent weeks).

Code: Select all

Yeah, that's what is really easy to notice and that's why I was thinking if it's able to hassle it and make a gun/oscillator on it... but well, maybe it's just me and it is not even possible

The first of these makes the rotor for "glasses", a scrubber variant. Here's a 2x1 version from years ago that uses a 3-glider synthesis of it (i.e. glider into B-heptomino). I had tried making a 2x2 version (using a predecessor similar to what you just posted above), but couldn't quite get all the gliders in place without some of them stepping on others.

Code: Select all

It's known. Here is a 23-glider synthesis of it:

I don't think it has an "official" name. I've always called one quarter of this an "armpit", hence "four armpits" for the whole object. Sometimes discoverers name things they find, especially if they are particularly noteworthy. But for more generic things (especially if objects are in the category of "one of thousands" or "one of millions"), things are rarely explicitly named, and if any DO get names, they seem to just happen based on common usage. In several cases, I created glider syntheses (or at least object lists) with objects whose names I didn't know, so for convenience, I just gave them names that I thought would be appropriate - and was surprised to discover, years later, that those names had somehow become the object's official names.

This is an interesting way to form this, although getting all the pulsars there with one blnker missing might be quite a challenge.

Here's a p4 oscillator based off the xWSS emulators that exhibits a resemblance to the t-nosed p4 as well:

Code: Select all

x = 13, y = 9, rule = B3/S23

This is certainly known but I cannot get any information about this cis-bi-mango:

Code: Select all
