68P16 is a period-16 oscillator discovered by carybe in a symmetric soup on October 22, 2018 using apgsearch.[1] It consists of eight blocks hassling four wings and four blocks, and so it is not technically a true wing hassler. It produces useful heavyweight sparks.

A 42-glider synthesis for this oscillator was found by Mark Niemiec on November 2,[2] which was improved to 39 by 2718281828 later that day.[3]

On September 15, 2021, David Raucci used this oscillator to construct a period-32 glider gun, smaller than the original p32 glider gun using a completely different mechanism that was posted just a few days earlier.[4]
