A bouncer is any one of several small periodic colour-changing glider reflectors discovered mainly by Noam Elkies in the late 1990s that use a boat, block and eater 1 with a sparker.

A spark at one of two possible positions will produce the same effect, as shown in the p6 bouncer example below at T=0 or any multiple of six ticks.

For some periods (e.g. 5), an eater 1 is too slow, and the spark of the sparker hits the boat. For this purpose, a second sparker is needed.
