Diamond ring is a period 3 oscillator that was found in 1972 by David Buckingham.[1] Its generations have 40, 44, and 48 cells.

It serves as the logo of Shinjuku.

Synthesis

In August 2004 Jason Summers found a 28-glider synthesis of a variation of this oscillator with an alternate stator.[2] A 24-glider synthesis of the original version was later found by Jeremy Tan on March 29, 2019 based on a soup submitted to Catagolue.[3]
