Dueling banjos is a period 24 oscillator found (in tetramer form, via apgsearch) by Apple Bottom on January 10, 2019.
Matthias Merzenich provided a monomer form that can be cis-in, cis-out or trans.[1] Starting from an initial p24 gun by Tanner Jacobi,[2] he found a way to adjust the sparkers to produce a true period gun slightly smaller than the previous record-holder, p24 gun.[3]

Mark Niemiec posted a 19-glider synthesis of the oscillator on January 13th.[4]
