Figure eight on rattlesnake is a period 88 oscillator that is composed of a figure eight and rattlesnake. Although it is composed of two oscillators of smaller periods (8 and 11 respectively), it is considered non-trivial because it contains a single cell that is alive in generation 87 and dead in the other 87 phases of the oscillator. In terms of its 45 cells, it is the smallest known non-trivial period 88 oscillator.
