LWSS on MWSS 1 is a standard spaceship flotilla consisting of a lightweight spaceship and middleweight spaceship reacting in a nontrivial way.

It is the fifth smallest known spaceship, tied with the loafer, LWSS on HWSS 1, LWSS on HWSS 2, MWSS on MWSS 1 and MWSS on MWSS 2.

Commonness

It is the third most common spaceship flotilla (and seventh most common spaceship overall) on Catagolue, being 2.56 times less common than HWSS on HWSS 1 but 1.24 times more common than LWSS on MWSS 2.[1]

It first appeared naturally on February 12, 2015, in a soup found by Dave Greene using apgsearch.[2]

Glider synthesis

All strict still lifes with a population of 21 or fewer cells, all oscillators with 16 or fewer cells, and all spaceships with 31 or fewer cells are known to be glider-constructible. A glider synthesis of this object can be found in the infobox to the right.
