The random duplicates were "transmogrified into toads" -- you wouldn't happen to be (or have been) a MU*cker, would you? Apple Bottom (talk) 20:17, 14 February 2018 (UTC)

No, not I. I've always deliberately stayed away from that kind of multiplayer online game, on the grounds that it would be too much fun and would eat up all my time -- like a modern-day Rip Van Winkle, I'd log off and it would be twenty years later.
Transmogrification and toads have a long and distinguished literary history independent of "toading". The one that comes to mind immediately is from the sequel to _Howl's Moving Castle_ -- one of the main characters had a penchant for turning people into toads. I definitely hear you re: MU*s being too much and eating up too much time -- not that the LifeWiki isn't doing the same, at times... ah, but that's interesting; probably the same background that whoever first used the term "toading" on MUCKs also had in mind. There is a redundant "snippet" in item 33. 77topaz (talk) 19:49, 21 February 2018 (UTC)

Thanks, fixed. Apple Bottom (talk) 08:44, 22 February 2018 (UTC)

Hmm... the snippets don't appear to be entirely evenly distributed: there are a lot more about "simple" topics like block or glider early in the year (possibly because they were the easiest to write?). Maybe the snippets could be rearranged slightly? 77topaz (talk) 01:43, 28 February 2018 (UTC)
