Re: Thread For Your Unrecognised CA
Sure. On second thought, I'm not sure why I didn't think it was good enough. Re: Thread For Your Unrecognised CA
Wow, I've got HEAPS of rules I want to post but don't think are worthy of their own thread. 1. This rule is the MilhinSA-meets-Generations treatment applied to B35/S1347. It, rather oddly, has both c/3 and 2c/7 diagonal spaceships: n_states:6 neighborhood:Moore symmetries:permute var a={1,3} var b={...

Doomedcell rulespace
Basically, this is a family of 3-state rules in which: -- A state 1 cell is born if it has B neighbours -- A state 1 cell remains a state 1 cell if it has S neighbours -- A state 1 cell becomes a state 2 cell if it has D neighbours -- Otherwise, a state 1 cell dies -- A state 2 cell always dies For ...

Re: Serizawa
Do you think this rule is omniperiodic? All periods >= 27 can be made by reflecting streams of spaceships, but of the lower ones there's only really p3 and p18. On an unrelated note, I've made pseudo guns for p17 through p26, of which only p18 has a known true gun: x = 659, y = 96, rule = Serizawa 2...

This has to be one of the strangest things I've ever seen. If you put a block next to an ordinary 3c/116 diagonal puffer like this, it becomes a c/15 orthogonal puffer:

Fun.
Kinda reminds me of Aurora19, I think it's the big sparkly ships.
I really like how things tend to show up at really weird periods.

Re: Spaceship speed limits
• B2 ~ B3 rules: c/2 orthogonally , c/2 diagonally. The same bow-width argument as for B1 ~ B3 diagonal applies for the orthogonal case here. Diagonally the situation is the inverse: B2 is capable of widening the bow, hence we can plug in the general diagonal B3 growth rate. You sure about that? x ...

This is a 6-state rule I came up with while messing about. Re: Alternating rules
B3S348+B2S356 has even more fun stuff than I thought. There are at least four reactions in which a puffer can hit a blinker and reverse direction, but one sends the puffer the other way with just the right timing to perform the same reaction again with its own output. This leads to this awesome grow...
