Re: Spiraloids (previously Spirals)
The wiki page is DONE! But because there is already page named spiral, I renamed the whole pattern family to spiraloids I also shortened the main post a bit and gave link to wiki page. That's it for today I think, I'll upload more stuff tomorrow. Have fun

Re: Spirals
@Rhombic - Very nice patterns! I like the fractal idea and I think I'll work a bit on them, maybe I'll find something new, I dunno... @Herik - All of your patterns are really interesting, but in fact, none of them are spirals... Though I have to think about the term "spiral-like" or "pseudo-spiral"....

Golly for Windows Phone?
Simple question: is, by any chance, Golly going to be ported to Windows Phone? Just asking, because the life apps that are now for WP suck...

Re: Thread for your unsure discoveries
Yeah, that's what is really easy to notice and that's why I was thinking if it's able to hassle it and make a gun/oscillator on it... but well, maybe it's just me and it is not even possibletowerator wrote:I like how the first reaction causes 2 pixels to blink 5 times.

... Thanks for posting these two objects. They inspired me to assemble two new syntheses that I did not have before. I have a vague recollection of needing the snakes-on-butterfly for something else a while back - I'll have to try to wrack my brain to remember why I needed it! No problem, I'm glad ...

Re: Spirals
its very interesting patterns. the patterns that I design is inspired by the "discovery" that the patterns that evolve spontaneously in the game follow the logic of symmetry d4, although most of the time the chaotic evollution of the patterns finish destroying this symmetry. this is (one of) the th...

Re: Spirals
I forgot to add one more important thing about spirals, which I made up before posting it here but completely forgot about it: Spirals are composed of base and arms . The base is located in the center of spiral, has to have D4 symmetry (like block or pond) and consists of 2 parts: center and outer r...

Spiraloids (previously Spirals)
All the info about spiraloids is on LifeWiki page. Most of the patterns (at least the ones I tried) don't lead to anything particular, but maybe there are some more oscillators and still lifes that are spiraloids? If anyone finds some interesting spiraloids, then feel free to post them here :) Here...

Still life I came up with when I was bored, probably have already been discovered but I haven't found anything on LifeWiki, so maybe it's something new?
