Re: Gustavo Ramos Rehermann's patterns

Wow. This was a long time ago. I was pretty naive, and honestly fairly immature, back then, lol. I had forgotten this existed, and honestly half of me wish it stood that way. But yeah, reading back on all of this is hilarious, and honestly it harkens back to a different time. Everything was simpler ...

Re: Minimalistic Game of Life simulator in Python

(a) I've gathered a LOT of Python knowledge since then, and I may guarantee you, that is bulky and inefficient. I can do a much faster method (considering I don't usually use NumPy ). I will create a Golly-independent Python script (probably with wxWidgets) that will search for combinations of inpu...

I checked my Gmail, and surprise surprise! I believe I'll just change my avatar and other things. I want to look decent in here.

On topic, I believe I'll remake the CGOL player.

Minimalistic Game of Life simulator in Python

Hello pals, I'm back! I don't remember how far have I gone in this community, but I have been doing a minimalistic, extendable and quick Game of Life simulator, in Python. Code: import re import os import time import sys import operator default_rle = """ x = 5, y = -2 24bo11b$22bobo11b$12b2o6b2o12b2...

Just out of curiosity, have this already been found?

Re: Gustavo Ramos Rehermann's patterns

The last one is probably the best, since a failure to use it results in a clean destruction. (But that's just my opinion.) Indeed. After all, using the dots is quite a difficult task. :P And I found out this reaction to be semi-interesting for me: x = 13, y = 13, rule = LifeHistory 6.C$5.C$5.3C2$3....

Re: Gustavo Ramos Rehermann's patterns

I have a plan for a Spartan G-to-H reduction of a Silver G-to-H. It isn't as small or fast as the syringe, but the semi-Spartan aspect as well as the constructability compensates. First, to make it constructable, we must find a synthesis of this part that is hard to synthesize: x = 16, y = 11, rule ...

Re: Gustavo Ramos Rehermann's patterns

'hd' stands for the number of h alf d iagonals separating a glider pair. It's been used a lot lately in slow-salvo discussion. Ah, ok, thanks. I am familiar with the concept, but not the abbreviation. I don't tend to follow the slow salvo discussions, as it's something I have very little experience...
