To be clear, are the two input gliders allowed to require exact-timing? The examples posted so far allow the gliders to have arbitrary timing.

I've found that the BTS is so versatile because it doesn't have a single iconic reaction--there are several evolutionary paths that a perturbed BTS can take to settle back into the original BTS configuration. Unfortunately, it's a catalyst better suited for automated programs than manual use.
