Re: Life has been proven omniperiodic. What next?

Synthesize the still life random.rle. Random .Rle may be tricky due to the fact that, while being a pseudo-still life, is also bery unstable. it would have to be incrementally synthesized in layers so that it doesn't collapse, or synthesized all at once. It may be able to be synthesized but it's lik...

Re: Math biopics I'd like to see

I wonder what a biopic of Paul Erdős would look like. I think that could make a really fascinating movie, though it could also be done very badly if the filmmakers decided they needed to make him more eccentric, or less eccentric, or add some implausible backstory. What about " N Is a Number: A Por...

What's the smallest possible repeating population of sawteeth?
I believe that RCT15 implies that the value is at most 75. Further reductions in terms of cells, e.g. encoding the construction recipe by a blinker rather than a glider saves two more cells.

UC-based polyomino oscillators and spaceships

According to LifeWiki, all known polyomino oscillators have period ≤ 15 and the only known polyomino spaceships are LWSS, MWSS and HWSS. Loafer and the Pi-R-Squared spaceship (and Rob's p16 with displacement 0, for that matter) are higher-period, which is why they can't be detected by these search tools. There could be a s...
