Re: Things You've Been Doing Other Than CGoL
I downloaded this wonderful program called Space Engine. It's interesting (since astronomy/astrophysics in general are interesting), and you can have fun flying spaceships around. Now I just need to learn how to avoid crashing into planets so much. (It turns out "autopilot" is really just "automatic...

Can anybody think of a wolfram rule that generates this binary sequence fractal?

Wiki article
Since I FINALLY have a trusted wiki account, I'll add the article. I'll call it "Calcyman's megacell," tell me/edit the article if it should have a different name. (Sorry, but the metacell doesn't seem to have a designated name.) Also, I won't add a lot of information, because I don't know where to ...

Related question, are there any known induction coils that move? I'm fairly new (ok fine, I've been playing f...

Re: Minimum size for a speed
The idea is this: the cells involved in the spaceship can be regarded as information, and the densest way to store information with a bunch of things with two states is in binary. So for an oscillator or spaceship, the maximum number of phases is 2^[number of cells on in at least one phase]. The pr...

Doesn't match a glider in one of its phases, though it is a glider minus one cell in its first phase. Also, same velocity.

A to-scale solar system. Finally figured out how to make something orbit something that orbits something.
The link will need to be updated when I update the project. I'm planning on adding major moons. (So Mars won't get any.)
Edit: Finally added Galilean moons.
