Re: Translating CA terms to Chinese
That's incorrect. The apgcode (and any other Extended Wechsler Format Canonical Form based encoding) is, by definition, the same for all orientations and phases.
My bad.
(Work with such encodings enough, and you can start to see them in just that way.)
I think you didn't get my point. Most ...

Re: moving spaceship status pages to the mainspace and {{LinkForumThread}} style=raw
The wiki is still supposed to be mostly focused on CGoL and closely related topics.
However, there is now a separate namespace (OCA:) for non-CGoL topics.
There always is. But there were objections to clutter the OCA namespace with your own rules, anyway, at least I thought there were.

Translating CA terms to Chinese
When trying to translate some articles into Chinese, I noticed the fact that many terms does not have a common translation, (e.g. what should "beehive at beehive" be translated into?) This makes it hard to introduce CA to Chinese people interested in CA.
Since there are quite a few Chinese users on ...

Re: LeapLife (B2n3/S23-q)
That table could not have been accurate at any given point in time. It's not just outdated; it's wrong. Mathematics hasn't changed over the last four years; there was never a time in the past where you could make a trivial oscillator of a prime power period.
I didn't claim it was correct; I ...

Oscillator periods
For green status, an oscillator must have a cell that oscillates at the full period, rather than some smaller factor of that period. One such cell is sufficient.
Yellow means that the only known examples contain no cells that oscillate at the full period.

A list is being made on the wiki here . Up to 10 bits we're missing long snake and broken snake (as well as a few with long snake as an intermediate step), I haven't yet gone through the 11s because some of them require those missing ones. I'm guessing Niemiec has these?

On a different note, I wrote a script to census the common evolutionary sequences, which is one of the scripts I always wanted to finish. (This was popular when I left, not sure if it still is.) The result is shown below:

Long time no see. I've been apgsearching b2n3s23-q/D8_4 a while ago, and running qfind on LeapLife recently (for the latter, see User:Ultimium/LeapLife_Spaceship_Search_Status_Page ), behind the scenes.

It's a pattern.
More hint: MathAndCode referred to it with a word appended. bubblegum once ranted him of that word.
