Re: Smallest Spaceships Supporting Specific Speeds (5s) Project

Using a 3-cell 26c/74o different from the one in the database (it more closely resembles the (12,1)c/25), I found 21 different ships, including 15 with 3 cells, but they are all improvements. In most rules the starting pattern seems to peter out quickly, so maybe the rulespace needs some refining. #...

Something weird happens when I match the following ship, a 10c/490o moving down, for 12 generations. A 7c/31o with 3 cells is already known, and so is the 10c/490o. But the 10c/490o is a good start for searchRule-matchPatt2.py.

Re: Rules with interesting dynamics

This rule forms stable domains of irregularly spaced lines pointing in the same direction, giving a wood-like texture. Along boundaries where the lines change direction, long-lived volcano-like regions of activity form, erupting along the grain in the direction closer to normal to the boundary. x = ...

Many of the new high-period ships in Omosso are likely speeds not yet in this database.
Identifying the record ships in Catagolue is going to be a pain, but Omosso record-holders at nc/98*n exist for n = 11, 13, 14, 16, 17, 19-40, 42, 44-46, 48, 56, 58, and 60.
