Make it so that before a new .rule file is opened, it asks if you want to copy the file into your rules folder, and copies the file if yes. It would make it a tad bit easier to add new rules, and it makes sense since you already have support for pasting new rules directly into Golly. This should th...

I don't really have the resources to be able to mess with Margolus rules a lot yet, but I do have a question/suggestion: How would a child get its food? Now, my idea is that the parent's last construction step would be to reroute all of its future food into the child somehow, like an umbilical cord....

Erm, I made a typo in the comments of Flow6/Demo/unarySub.mc
It says on line 4: "#C and then 2 - 4 = -4 (the outer signals)."
It's supposed to say 2 - 6 = -4, that's gonna be a bit confusing for the small percentage of people who bother to read the comments

These two together *almost* make a complete replicator. The loop length is 92k, and it runs in 6 loop iterations, so the total replication time is around 550k cycles. have you noticed that the extension signal extends only 1 cell, but the turn signal extends 2 at a time? we could use that for a much better “rocket fuel” and be able to fit twice as much information in the trail. however, the bigger issue is how are we going to make the child loop replicate? To be fair, it would probably be easier to just build an orthogonoid, right? I can’t figure out how to do a 4-reader one. There’s probably a solution involving crossovers but for now I keep running into a 3 utilities-type problem. accept the inevitability of crossovers. luckily, WireWorld has a double AND-NOT cell that we can use as a small (5*5) timing dependent crossover....

RepLoopcator completed, and it's faster than the Hutton Replicator found in Golly's patterns.
