Re: Metapixel in WWEJ3
I'll try to metafy something else with the new one. Please suggest a small oscillator (I don't want to do a blinker again.) EDIT: In case it would be of any interest: here is the "old" metablinker using the more-complicated design in the OP. <very cool metablinker> Nice, the period seems to be exac...

Could you post a sample pattern, like a blinker in a 5*5 grid, to show us what it can do?

Re: Flow6
flexabrotnt on Discord gave me a significantly smaller (and more standard) type of demultiplexer. It's made of just ANDs and NANDs. The AND gates were pretty normal, but the NAND gates instead used a piece of solid-state tech I've never seen before. The bounding box is 9 by 6. Or 6 by 9 if oriented ...

Re: Golly suggestions
Pardon me but I would like to bring attention back to An earlier suggestion of mine , to see if there are any technical (OS-related?) limitations that prevent the idea from being implemented, or if the feature is under way, or if it's not a priority. It's mildly annoying having to move rules into my...

Re: WireWorld implementation using WebGL
I think a GPU could probably run Hashlife fairly well. GPUs are designed to perform massive amounts of parallelized computation. HashLife wasn't designed to be parallel. While parallel implementations of Hashlife might exist, I doubt they could work on a GPU since they all need to access and modify...

Re: Resources pertaining to computation in cellular automata
Correction: Flow6 was made in June 22, 2018 , even before Sticky in September 5 the same year, but most of the development happened in the Discord server, so pretty much nobody in the forums knew about it until I somehow ended up posting Sticky in 2018 and Flow6 in 2019. Before Flow6, there was the ...

kbe.lua - a Vi-like Keyboard Editor for Golly
Introducing kbe.lua, a KeyBoard Editor for Golly. *May be slow when pasting patterns. But this seems to be an issue with my Golly as a whole. Pasting patterns even with just Ctrl+V isn't fast anymore either. The keybinds are inspired by the Vim text editor. You may customize them inside the lua fil...

Re: Why so little interest in multistate rules?
What I've noticed with Circuitry rules in particular is that the more experienced users typically create their own rules and don't use others' very often. Factors for this might include paradigm shifts between rules, lack of documentation for some, and personal interest favoring their own ideas. If ...

Strange that I didn't add this here but Rule: Flow6 6-state Construction, 2019-2022, probably Mid-level since circuitry is primarily timing-based, but timing-agnostic circuits do exist, as demonstrated in the Computer dubbed the "Flow6 Read-If/Else System" whose acronym I'd like you to guess and use

Re: Flow6
Do note that Flow6 makes no guarantees about read arms; if the read is TRUE, it returns a value. if the read is FALSE, it returns no value... but if the read isn't finished yet, it also returns no value. This means it's impossible to tell whether you're reading FALSE or if the read arm is just, obsc...
