cgol bad because cgol not good, thus making it bad because bad approximately is equivalent to not good (unless something is not good and also not bad, in which case it is considered neutral, which cgol is not, since cgol bad), thus making it bad because bad approximately is equivalent to not good an...

Regarding automated pulling of data from catagolue

Several things:
  • How often is it OK to request a census(, if at all)?
  • Where can I find the list of censuses?
  • Where can I find the list of patterns in said census?
  • Do I have to calculate the min/max rules myself?

Using the stable eater found by FWKnightship, you can "simulate" the sparky oscillator like so: x = 20, y = 33, rule = 234e/2e3/4 6.2A$6.A$3.2A.A$3.2A.2A2$3.2A.2A$3.2A.A5.2AC$6.A4.2A$6.2A4.ACA$12.3A 3$17.2A$16.C2A$17.2A2$17.A$16.B2A$16.C.A$18.C$16.C$13.2A$6.2A4.ABA$6. HTech (234e/2e3/3)

Named HTech because I am a very creative person who names things in creative ways creatively. This rule has natural guns, an ortho spaceship, a diagonal spaceship and a few more rarer spaceships. There are many reactions in this rule, and I have found many (however I'm still missing a P18 splitter, ...

A map of all OTCA rules!

UPDATE:
Included more axioms, and all of the B0 axioms (thanks laundrypizza03!) which were very tedious to copy, so hopefully I didn't make any mistakes!

Re: A map of (half of) all OTCA rules!

Hello, sorry, I keep forgetting to check the forums! This is probably unreasonable, but is there a way to do this with non-totalistic rules? also, bump Well, technically, but you would need a 2251799813685248x2251799813685248 image (still excluding B0), and that seems very unreasonable (if memory se...

Interestingly, everything is more "square". CGOL can be found at 144, 240 (yes, after the upscaling). Here it is shown in the outlined box.

"Smallest" INT rules supporting particular speeds

Inspired by 5s. "Smallest" here is defined by transition count of the rule (e.g B/S1 actually counts as 2 transitions, S1c and S1e, B2a/S counts as 1 transition). Spaceships do not have to be optimized for bounding box or cell count. For example: (1,0)c/1 is 2 (B2ae/S): x = 2, y = 4, rule = B2ae/S o...
