Re: Synthesising Oscillators

Is there a figure eight synthesis that can be used to insert this for a p232 LCM oscillator? None of the ones on Mark Niemiec's site (nor the 5G one I made earlier) work here: x = 28, y = 28, rule = B3/S23 15bo$13b3o$12bo$12b2o2$bo$obo7b2o$bo7b3o3b2o$10b2o3b2o3$19b2o$10b2o7b2o5b2o$b o7b3o14bo$obo7b2...

Re: 16 in 16: Efficient 16-bit Synthesis Project

Is there any hope for getting the two remaining 9-bitters in 4? I don't see why not. Many of the objects that are about the same frequency class as long^3 snake have 4G syntheses, and if I understand correctly we've still only investigated a small fraction of the possible 4G collisions. It's just a...

There's an explanation of it here on Googology Wiki which I really liked, though it is a bit long.

Seconded. And may I question about the reference? (Not obvious to a non-english-meme speaker)
It's a reference to David Hilbert's 23 math problems. And thirded about letting the discoverer suggest/approve the name.

Does the original RuleTableToTree.py script work? Are you running a copy of RuleTableToTree-hacked.py saved in that same folder? 1. Nope, same issue. 2. Yes. 3) Run the RuleTableToTree-hacked.py script. You'll end up with a copy of the rule with both @TABLE and @TREE sections installed in Golly's Rules folder, and also copied to your clipboard.
I'm getting an "ImportError: No module named ReadRuleTable" from line 11 when I try to run the script.

Google actually has functionality to search for specific phrases but unfortunately doesn't advertise it very well. You can also restrict the search to a given site or even a subdirectory on that site. Here's an example if you want to search for the phrase "B conduit": https://www.google.com/search?c...

(39.5? Where in Conway's name did that number come from?)
It's exactly half of the period of the climber (79), meaning the loop takes exactly 2 seconds.
