Is this a stamp collection? Did it list all possible 10-bit quasi still lifes?
Yes. At least, the table that you linked to says there are the same number of 10-bit quasi still lifes as Heinz ketchup varieties, and that's exactly how many quasi still lifes are in that stamp-collection pattern.

I was surprised to see that this is not in the Elementary Conduit Collection. I saw that [dvgrn] said that Word Chains are difficult to moderate somewhere. That is not true. No moderation is needed there at all. Re: Thread for basic questions

What's the cheapest way to synthesize an LWSS with a single glider in one direction and an unlimited amount of gliders in the opposite direction? Does it matter which way the LWSS goes, relative to the direction the single glider is coming from -- 45 degrees or 135 degrees? From simeks' searches fo...

Re: Thread for basic questions

Which loaf parent is more common, xp0_137 or xp0_357? There might not be a definite answer to that -- it might depend on details like whether you're running NxN soups in an unbounded universe, or soups on a torus, or something else entirely. Here's a reasonable data point, though: the octohash data...

Re: Stable signal converters

This would enable self-constructing single-channel circuitry with a repeat time of 62 instead of 90, wouldn't it? Would it? Yes, if we had a H-to-(LWSS-on-LWSS) converter with that repeat time. But it's not easy to build a converter like that without using syringes, which bumps the repeat time back...

Is this LWSS-on-LWSS to H known? I would expect something this simple to already be in this thread, but I don't see it here. Interesting! I don't remember any previously known *WSS-pairing-to-anything converter, so I'd say it's definitely a new discovery. This might not be too surprising, since we ...

Yeah, the Component Collection doesn't contain all the components necessary for making all the greyships, just the ones necessary to make them all from a certain 227-bit still-life . I was thinking that the recipe for that xs227 could just be hard-coded into the script so that we don't have to worr...

Am I really allowed to create custom rule tables on the wiki? Whenever a rule definition is needed for LifeViewer to be able to display and animate patterns on the forums or the LifeWiki, it's okay to create a Rule:{rulename} article in the Rules namespace. Re: Updated oscillator stamp collection (was: Re: Golly suggestions)

What if the size is dependent on the bounding box? The size of the label is already somewhat dependent on the bounding box, but they're still mostly too small. This is going to take a lot of fiddling to get exactly right. One problem is that many names are quite short, but occasionally there's an a...

I think a good first step in making a greyship-synthesising script will be to convert all the above pieces into continuous syntheses. It's probably not obvious how to use the above pieces to make arbitrarily large greyships, so I made the following diagram to demonstrate how the two smallest yet to...

Re: Thread for basic questions

Nope, not a finite one. c/2o is a hard limit in rules without B012. That is to say, it's a hard limit for spaceships traveling through empty space in non-B012 universes such as Conway's Life. There are known spaceship-looking things that travel through infinite agar s that have some ON cells and so...
