Why a new thread, instead of posting in an existing thread (e.g. Synthesising oscillators)?
To try to focus on the goal of reducing glider counts below cell count for every periodic pattern. It just so happens that there is only one pattern left and that pattern is 14P2.4.

14P2.4 Synthesis

14P2.4 is currently the only periodic pattern that requires more gliders (30) to synthesize than it has cells (14), accounting for the 15 glider RCT. xp2_4l1148kgzx302 #C [[ GRID MAXGRIDSIZE 14 THEME Catagolue ]] #CSYNTH xp2_4l1148kgzx302 costs 30 gliders (true). #CLL state-numbering golly x = 321, ...

Edit (22 July 2023): p41 oscillator is known, so B3/S23 (Life), B38/S23 (Pedestrian Life) and B3/S238 (Eight Life) are omniperiodic.
What about B38/S238 (Honey Life)

Re: Create your own terminology

In elementary conduits, Have the letter Z (for Zilch) represent nothing. E.g. an eater1 would be G*4Z. (the star is there because nothingness only exists in one orientation) In addition, other inputs and outputs without abbreviations shall be referred to by apgcode (no prefix) e.g. x = 12, y = 13, r...

I'm pretty certain this can be used to execute arbitrary javascript code so it should probably be restricted.

Re: Thread For Your Accidental Discoveries

Pi + blinker collision = two gliders, and blinkery survives, but pulled orthogonal a little. Mayby useful for guns with pi factories. x = 3, y = 11, rule = B3/S23 bo$bo$bo6$3o$obo$obo! <rle> My first thought is to use this to make a self-supporting spaceship by redirecting the gliders. caterpillar

Re: Belated Pattern of the Year 2012 voting thread

I have not been doing a great job informing people, so the turnout has been low. As such, I've decided to extend the voting period from 0:00 UTC on November 1, 2022 to 23:59 UTC on December 31, 2023. This will be the final extension. I'm assuming you mean 2022? Would be one heck of an extension oth...
