Re: BBM: Turing Complete?

Tofolli investigated the billiard ball model. Here is what I've found: http://www.cs.unb.ca/profs/gdueck/cours ... rs/BBM.pdf.

Re: A cool growing wick!

Thanks for explanation! :D But I noticed that the LifeWiki wicks/fuses collection is very small, so I am trying to make new wicks, so is is less probable that people will say "No, no, this was already invented..." Making spacefillers from these principles seems difficult however since we'd need to s...

Wick capable of moving blocks in 12 directions!

A simple wick made of blinkers, that, when activated by a block, burns moving it to the other side! It works in any part of it's period. Here is it, with the basis reaction: x = 259, y = 152, rule = B3/S23 8$202bo$197bo4bo$192bo4bo4bo$187bo4bo4bo7bo$182bo4bo4bo7bo4bo$48b2o3bo 11b2o110bo4bo4bo7bo4bo4...

A cool growing wick!

After some time playing around with *WSSs, I noted that various OverWeight Spaceships can stabilize each other: x = 25, y = 220, rule = B3/S23 7$7b13o$6bo12bo$19bo$6bo11bo2$6bo11bo$19bo$6bo12bo$7b13o4$7b13o$6bo12b o$19bo$6bo11bo2$6bo11bo$19bo$6bo12bo$7b13o4$7b13o$6bo12bo$19bo$6bo11bo 2$6bo11bo$19bo$...

BBM: Turing Complete?

Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billiard-Ball_Computer A Billiard Ball Computer is is a computer based in the Billiard ball model, that can be simulated with the Margolus neighborhood. I have built the AND gate shown in the page: ( It is rotated 45 degrees ) x = 98, y = 69, rule = BBM-Margolus-em...

Wolfram 22 emerging from junk in Life!

Code: Select all

x = 8242, y = 1, rule = B3/S23
8242o!
Rotate by 90 degrees and run. The rotated version code is 16.484 characters long.
