Star Wars Lite (34-ik5e/2ace/3)

After a long time playing around with Star Wars I decided to try and find the "simplest" rule to support the same kind of signal circuitry, this is the one I found most interesting. All the things I build are based around these "double crosses" circuits. x = 54, y = 6, rule = 34-ik5e/2ace/3 2.A4.A4....

Re: To Implement Extended Moore Neighbourhoods

You can do this with a rule table, using the neighborhood Moore_radius2: https://code.google.com/p/ruletablerepository/wiki/RoadMap I don't think it's implemented in the current version of Golly. It would be interesting to know if, say, Von Neumann with radius 2 could be implemented in the normal M...

Here's an update: since I failed at writing a rule generator, I decided to manually write the general ruletable for this Rulespace. Very interesting! Re: The CA community annoys me

Mcell is more convenient.Although golly can support all types of CA,but we don't need them. What do you mean with "we don't need them" ? What's more convenient about it? And why should we limit ourselves to CA that mcell can represent? Or to naive step algorithms rather than hashing? Or a finite bo...

Re: Another Rulespace

First, I wonder if there if it would be easier to not count the central cell, and simply rely on the Birth/Survival rule specification. In Weighted Life, the ME value turned out to be superfluous; doesn't it here too? No, that's an integrant part of the Rulespace! I'm sorry, maybe I didn't explaine...

Thank's for the feedback, I really appreciate it. Since I'm far from being an expert programmer, I surely have done some errors... Another Rulespace

Re: MCell Weighted Life (Patterns and Rules)

I don't understand very well how weights work. When it's set to 0, the neighborhood is not counted, and that's how you emulated the Hex rule. When it's set to 1 it's like a totalistic rule's neighborhood. But how does it work with higher numbers? However thanks for your work, I'm so happy that we fi...
