Unfortunately that's not true, or the gun would be around 5280*5280 in dimensions and have an area of 27878400 square feet. That's far, far bigger than many of the recent guns for things like the crab, dart, and weekender.

I've noticed a worse bug (or maybe the same bug with a worse outcome?) with undoing - in similar conditions on Windows, Golly will suddenly report that the rule specified is not compatible with any algorithm, making it impossible to undo any further.

I don't know what v does. It doesn't seem to affect the search in any way. It's like 'u', but it's for even bilateral symmetry. It seems to crash whenever the speed being searched for is too close to c/2 in general which is quite unfortunate because speeds like 3c/7 are quite interesting - but mayb...

zdr's search program crashes upon trying to search for a 5c/13 orthogonal ship or on trying to refind the loafer. Still quite impressive little program though, output this partial in less than a minute or so and then returned that there were no solutions for odd symmetric at width 11: x = 11, y = 29...

Okay, this is one really freaking reliable rock. Not even this bombardment could turn it to ashes I'd go as far as to say that this pattern is indestructible. Of the cells in/around it that can be turned ON by external influences, none of them border a live cell in the pattern with 3 live neighbors...
