Accidental Script Results

This thread is for accidental results from scripts that anyone finds interesting, or otherwise wants to post. I would add my accidental result but it is to big to be pasted in and I can't attach it as Golly won't let me gzip it. Obviously I wasn't able to search the whole thing, but it's a pretty bi...

B0137/S1

I've been really interested recently in rules with B0 and without S8. One interesting rule I found is B0137/S1. This rule is similar to Seeds in that despite the fact that it explodes with most patterns, it is still possible to make well behaved patterns like wicksretchers, complicated spaceships, r...

Re: Rules in which every spaceship speed is possible

I've thought of something really similar to this before but had no idea how it might be achieved. Now that part of it has been, I'd like to post the other part that wasn't covered here: what about rules where every spaceship direction is possible? (ingoring universal constructor ships like Gemini in...

Re: Best GoL pattern ever discovered?

I mean, is it possible that a pattern will recover itself a few number of generations AFTER it has transformed a spaceship? The FFFF itself is a bit disappointing from this angle, because the gliders themself die after the transformation. I am almost 99.9999...% certain no such pattern exists, for ...

Re: Why is this forum so Dead?

Gif's are more time consuming to make, so those are probably going to remain uncommon in posts. For the most recent posts I made about patterns I found, I included pictures so there was no requirement to open Golly to see the basis of what happened. Id like Golly or some other program to let us run ...

Re: Self-repairing pattern

Now, I know this isn't quite self-repairing, but I wanted to post this as I haven't seen this mechanism in any other spaceship. Using WLS I was able to find this large spaceship that moves at c/3. I call it the whale: x = 49, y = 23, rule = B3/S23 3$19bobo7bob2o$8b2ob2o2bo3bo4b3o2bo3bo$7bo3b4o2b2o9b...

Re: Thread For Your Accidental Discoveries

Since we are on the topic of Pi's and hats, I might as well mention this 14c/45 fuse in in which a Pi eats hats and leaves beehives: x = 348, y = 5, rule = B3/S23 3bo13bo13bo13bo13bo13bo13bo13bo13bo13bo13bo13bo13bo13bo13bo13bo13bo13b o13bo13bo13bo13bo13bo13bo13bo7bo$b3o11b3o11b3o11b3o11b3o11b3o11b3o...

Re: What do you want out of (conway's) life this year?

I imagine the discussion for B3/S238, B38/S23, and B38/S238 should probably get moved to another thread... (I discovered a small explosion in B38/S238 similar(?) to LoM in Life, and stairstep hexamino in B38/S238 is a methuselah that stabilizes in 3591 generations and outputs 38 gliders) Now, back t...

Re: What do you want out of (conway's) life this year?

Another possible name for B38/S23 (it's a bit silly but still descriptive): "SuperHighLife" (HighLife is B36/S23, and traffic lights are really rare in HighLife too - otherwise the Bomber would probably explode)
