Re: Thread for Your Accidental Discoveries that Aren't in CGOL

Incredible 13c/512 diagonal!, I was lucky to see this thing come out of random soup, it is one of the weirdest ships that I have ever seen: x = 26, y = 27, rule = B2-ac3-jnqr5y67e8/S1c23-akny4 o2bo$o2bo$4o$b2o13$18bo$8bobo5bob3o$10bo5bo3bo$7bo8b2o2bo$7b3o2bo4bobo 2b2o$5b2ob3ob2o4bo3bo$8bo9b5ob2o$7bo...

Re: Thread for basic questions

How do you see partials on gfind-pt for non-totalistic rules? Also, is there a way to eliminate duplicate spaceships?

You checked all permutations on the database? I don't have the ships you need, but drc's dropbox collection or the natural ships with strange speeds thread might have something

I can't find one either, and I have none on my list. There is none in drc's collection either. I don't know if any are known.

Re: Perfect Orthogonal Speeds in Life-like CA

Yeah, if you go to this, it has all of the gliders, in his format, http://fano.ics.uci.edu/glider.db, to find a specific speed, like c/55, just search :55:1:0, :55:-1:0, :55:0:1, and :55:0:-1, which are the four possible parameters for c/55 p55.

Actually, I was missing a c/39, but I did a search on the raw data and found one, it is fast, and I am planning to add more to my list.

EDIT, a c/55, only one on the database that is not higher period:

Where is this ntzfind version located? The one that I have is on the zfind discussion thread, and it can't do diagonal. Sorry for being off-topic. Can you show me where it is, please?

Re: Perfect Orthogonal Speeds in Life-like CA

No, I just looked through thousands of rules, because I had a lot of time. It is kind of ridiculous, but I have like 200 speeds, with many at 5 cell ships. A script could be written for it, David Eppstein has a raw data file, that with a simple python program, it could probably read. I tried to writ...

I am just trying to fill in the gaps in the list, so these are probably not optimal, unfortunately a lot of my minimum size ships for totalistic rules are B0 rules. Do you want to see the list, drc? Re: Logic Land

Does anyone have any ideas on the way to implement the crossover state? From my estimates it seems to take around 80 states to just do the crossover because we cannot do extended neighborhoods in Golly. The 80 states come from all the different combinations of inputs. I can't figure out a way to do ...
