Re: battleships!
I need someone to post a tutorial of making "battleships". I need to know the basic "components" of battleships, and I need a LOT of battleship. Each battleship should be an upgraded version of the previous battleship. Sorry for the late reply! Before you begin, download Jslife moving objects. You ...

battleships!
I was debating whether to put this in the sandbox board or here, but since I put all the past battleship stuff here (back when I was still platypus5), and since the sandbox seemed a little too off beat, I decided to go with this board. While it might not be the most useful application of GoL, forgin...

Re: Is it okay to cancel gfind searches?
Thank you everyone. No, this was not a troll post. I am just some random person who has a side interest in GoL, specifically c/3 and c/4 rakes and puffers. It took me a while to even figure out how to access gfind after installing it, because when its instructions said to run it out of the "terminal...

Is it okay to cancel gfind searches?
Fresh off of managing to install gfind, I ran a search for c/3 ships using a depth level of 140. Is it safe to cancel searches? Because my computer is now trying to search for a c/3 ships of width 46. It has been 20 minutes, and it is only on the 2nd pass through. EDIT: Well, I went ahead and did it...

Re: Should I try installing gfind if I dont know what I'm doing?
Thank you everyone for the encouragement! I will do this!
By the way, don't think I have lost interest in my battleships... I'm mainly looking for c/3 ship components xD

Re: turtle tagalongs
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the 4th one is already in JS life.

Should I try installing gfind if I dont know what I'm doing?
I'm fairly comfortable navigating a modern Windows file system, but when it comes to C and anything but very simple command prompt tools I'm clueless. I would love to be able to use pattern search tools (especially gfind and zfind), but I'm worried that since I don't know what I'm doing, I may someh...

Re: Spaceship Discussion Thread
Returning poster on new account (I forgot my old password), first post after years of dormancy. Here are six new-ish c/3 p3 ships found by mirroring arms and components of existing ships. No scripts were involved, just manual trial and error. I guess you could debate whether they really count as "ne...
