Primarily I'm interested in the analyzer (raw gencols output would be interesting too). I'd like to contribute to development of the script, if you don't mind.
Regarding "some place" I would definitely recommend putting everything on GitHub.

I wonder, what structure your collision database has. Can you please make it available somewhere, e. g. via Dropbox or something? I'd be interested to try writing a script.

I found a helix .... Congrats! Very well done! It seems that you found a way to make use of g+3ss collisions. Just out of curiosity, have you tried to find a shorter helix for the caterpillar using the extended collision database? The next (fairly easy) step is to use the reactions of the original ...

For building the helix in the caterpillar they used a table of glider collisions with up to 2 standard spaceships. I wonder, if the helix could be made smaller if they used glider collisions with more spaceships, say, up to 3.

Re: (23,5)c/79 spaceship components
It doesn't work, and it's easy to prove it doesn't work. Suppose the spaceship we are talking about has a "classical" helix, i.e. one like that used in the Caterpillar. Then, over one period (79 generations), the Herschel/glider track moves up 23 cells but the spaceships in the helix move up 39. Th...

Re: French student trying to work on GoL
Another idea for a master thesis or simply an article for a journal could be a program, that would generate a slow salvo recipe out of a glider synthesis.
That would be a real bridge between the large knowledge base of glider syntheses and spartan universal constructor technology.
