Re: Marriage
Every "boundary" piece is not a tagalong but an extension. I'm not sure what distinction you're trying to make here. Either way it's a question of pieces you can add or leave unadded with no difference to the parts in the front. Tagalong/pushalong has, in at least one of its stages, a gap between i...

Re: Marriage
Every "boundary" piece is not a tagalong but an extension. Chaos in 2/2/4 is, as someone here stated, based on a weird methuselah that is like a "burst of magma" in Golly's default gradient, so I called it "magmaselah". 2 magmaselahs can be turned into a spaceship: x = 5, y = 9, rule = 2/2/4 .CA$2.2...

Reduce population in Vacuum gun
Vacuum (or "beaming up") gun can be reduced. On LifeWiki it is shown with 4-block stabilizations in some cases. I think using hats or other stabilizations for those parts is acceptable. Vacuum with hats: x = 92, y = 85, rule = B3/S23 28b2o$28bo$26bobo$7b2o2bobo12b2o36b2o5b2o$6b3obo3bo49b2o5b2o$5b2o6...

Re: A puffer that can clean up after another copy of itself?
I know, but with the puffer engines the Three Smokes puffer is triangular. It can be turned into an arbitrarily-large Sierpinsky ship. #CXRLE Pos=-66,-266 Gen=384 x = 107, y = 115, rule = B3/S23 102b2o$105bo$93b2o3b2o6bo$95bo2bo7bo$92b2ob12o$92b3ob2o2b2o$94bobo$88b obo4bo$91bo12b2o$88bobo11b2ob2o$83...

Re: Marriage
ound also a Sierpinski pattern Weird! Instead of plain debris, those are laid out in spaceships?!? And, there are no "tagalongs". Most (if not all) technology is built from "branching" of the "boundary". And, I call the width-2 ships in LWP/LWGP "bullets" or "photons". And, I knew of various branch...

A puffer that can clean up after another copy of itself?
About a month ago, I found a puffer that is made up of two Coe Ships and a Schick Engine. Was this puffer known before? It has an interesting property - it can clean up after a copy of itself. This comes from HWSS-like domino spark of Coe ENgine. In the RLE, it is shown doing cleanup after two copie...

Big Glider tagalongs RLE missing.
I restored the tagalongs RLE manually by going to Canada Goose page and downloading the RLE of Goose pulled by two Big Gliders (through one of those tagalongs), then re-drew the side tagalong and the block looking at the picture of those tagalongs. Please upload the RLE and restore the link. RLE: x ...

Marriage
Marriage is a group of 3 rules: 2/2, 2/2/3 and 2/2/4 (longer histories tend to be less interesting). In 3- and 4-state versions of the rule, a domino becomes a growing diamond with two c p1 corners and two c/2 p2 corners and firm boundaries. In same versions, if rears of all 3 parts of an "ant" (as ...

wick ships?
What wick ships do you know besides 114p6h1v0's front part ("faces") and the one listed in "tagalong" under LWSS in LifeWiki ("Bell's Bugs")? Here's the comparison of the two: Bell's Bugs - frontally stabilized by a "survivor" (pattern that survives without the wick bit), dies into a pair of gliders...

Re: Pattern phase types
L/M/HWSS have "fish" phase and "L" phase. Is this what the author meant?
Fish phase has more cells, L phase has less. But it is in L phase that M/H/OWSS have their side spark produced

Re: Stepships - A new type of c/2 spaceship
A new "step"! Create a Schick engine with LWSS's for front. Attach Coe engines (Coe ship's tagalong part) to both sides of Schick engine's loco. Coe engine's domino spark acts just like that of a HWSS, so it can clear out blinkers. The engine I described above is particularly wide so it should proba...

Where to post name proposal for patterns?
114p6h1v0's "wick" part has some resemblance of a cartoonish face in one of its phases, so the wick could be named "faces", and, correspondingly, the spaceship could be named "facestacker". "Faces" wick is unique in that it needs REAR stabilization instead of front one like Ants (and probably all ot...

Oddities about Coe Parasite
To clarify: Coe Parasite is the tagalong in Coe Ship. Oddities: 1. If you attach two Coe Parasites to a Schick Engine's LWSS-based "loco", you make a period 48 blinker puffer with output offset by 24, so it's only burnable by a HWSS. 2. Coe Parasite can support a sidecar. Has the Dual Coe Puffer bee...

Schick Engine and Pecanins Giant
Hello. It's known that two HWSS's can support a giant "fish" pattern (3 cells longer than LWSS) (Pecanins Giant) I found that twin Pecanins Giants can support a Schick Engine if given support from two HWSS's. Start by drawing a Schick Carrier in its "box" stage, only 3 cells longer than two HWSS's. ...

Re: Schick Engine wrong bounding box info
Ok. And, is there a name for the phase that looks like a hollow arrow (the stage on which it's easier to add the extra LWSS's)? Those two LWSS's perturb the flame on "crown" stage to produce a blinker And, last one: Is it OK to use "surface" and "splash" for phases of LWSS/MWSS/HWSS/Pecanins Monster...

Schick Engine wrong bounding box info
The smallest bounding box for Schick engine is not that big. It is 9x9 with smallest ships and smallest phase of the Reactor (but with the flame cut off since it's not essential for the pattern). Twin LWSS has a length of 5 and width of 9 - since each LWSS is 5 squares long and 4 squares wide, and t...

Is there a name for this combo?
Hi. This is my first post. The combo is: Schick Engine or Blinker Ship with twin MWSS for head (instead of usual twin LWSS), and with two Pushalong 1 (side pushalong for MWSS if you forgot). So, is there an official name for it? To me, MWSS-based blinker front with 2x Pushalong 1 looks like a poopin...
